TLP Crankcase Ventilation System

First let’s define “catch can” these came around over two decades ago, a catch can was designed to “catch” excess pressure that builds up in the valve cover. This can also cause oil to make its way into the “catch can”, these are important because normally without a “catch can” this would be vented back to the intake pushing oil through and contaminating your air/fuel mixture pre-ignition. On forced induction cars this will cause a dirty combustion and knock- we know knock is something we don’t want!

Now there is a worse effect on a Direct Injection engine! Why? Direct Injection does not spray fuel pre intake valve which essentially helps clean your valves, so over time on Direct Injection engines your valves will collect Carbon deposits - basically looks like tar wrapped around the valves. This can cause airflow restrictions and uneven AFR mixtures. In extreme cases we have seen excess carbon build up on the turbine wheel causing shaft imbalances and premature turbo failure.

So let’s get to the solution! Bonnie & Clyde Racing stands behind only ONE product to properly protect your VR30 engine! The TLP Oil to Air Separation System! Notice we didn’t say “Catch Can”? The Tracy Lewis Performance system does not “Catch” contamination, its innovative design uses vacuum to suck air/pressure out of the crankcase for proper ventilation. The TLP systems internal design pulls air from crankcase and passes it through a series of chambers and filters for maximum filtration then dumps the clean air back to the intake. This system has seen up to 90% filtration.

Time to compare to other “Catch Cans” available. Over the years Tracy Lewis has tested their system against EVERY name brand “Catch Can” on the market. He has ran the TLP system in tandem with more than 20 name brand cans and to no surprise the TLP prevailed, catching more than twice the contamination after being filtered by the latter!!
